Security services, including aviation, are on high alert following suspicions of terrorist infiltration into Israeli territory near Highway 12 and Eilat.
Police are establishing checkpoints, and access to Highway 12, which links Israel and Egypt, has been blocked.
The situation is currently under investigation.
