Hamas leader Mohammad Shehab dies in Gaza

The Hamas leadership announced that Muhammad Shehab, a prominent leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement and a former associate of Ahmad Yassin (killed in March 2004), died in the Gaza Strip on the night of July 18.

Hamas stated that Shehab died of an illness and emphasized that he could not receive necessary medical care due to the blockade and ongoing war in Gaza.

It's noteworthy that Muhammad Shehab might have been on the IDF's target list due to his active role in Hamas. He was connected to both the organization's political leadership and militant commanders. Additionally, Shehab was a member of Gaza's parliament representing Hamas and had previously spent about ten years in Israeli prisons.
