On Monday, July 29, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights, where a rocket exploded on a soccer field on July 27, killing 12 children and injuring dozens of others. He was accompanied by Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, Chief of Staff Yossi Sheli, Military Secretary Roman Hoffman, and others.
Netanyahu met with local council leaders and residents, offering his condolences.
"Like many around the world, we were deeply shocked by this horrific massacre," Netanyahu said, reiterating that the children's deaths were caused by an Iranian missile launched by Hezbollah. He assured that Hezbollah would be held accountable for the attack.
