In response to Hamas' accusations of obstructing a deal to end the Gaza ceasefire and free hostages, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement:
"Hamas leadership is preventing the agreement. Israel has not changed or added any conditions to the deal plan. On the contrary, Hamas has demanded 29 changes and has not accepted the original plan. Israel adheres to its principles in accordance with the original plan: the maximum number of living hostages, Israeli control over the Philadelphi Corridor, and the prevention of terrorists and weapons from entering northern Gaza," Netanyahu's office said.
Earlier, Hamas released a statement claiming that Israel presented new amendments to the agreement during a meeting in Rome, contradicting previous agreements. "It is clear that Netanyahu has returned to the previous strategy of delaying the negotiations to avoid an agreement," the Hamas statement said.
