Military Court to determine measures against soldiers detained for interrogation over abuses at Sde-Teiman
This morning, a military court in Beit Lid will decide on the measures to be taken against nine reservist soldiers who were detained on July 29 for interrogation on suspicion of abusing detainees at the Sde-Teiman base.
Currently, there are no reports of incidents in the Beit Lid area, although there were disturbances there the previous day.
The reason for the detention of the nine reservists from Sde-Teiman was the receipt of information that one of the detainees (reportedly a terrorist in some publications) had sustained an anal injury.
According to preliminary investigative assessments reported by Israeli media, not all of those detained for interrogation are suspected of being involved in the abuse of the detainee or detainees. It is likely that only one or a few soldiers are suspected. The investigation aims to gather information through the interrogations.
