Security increased for chief military advocate Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi

Due to threats against chief military advocate Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, made during a demonstration near her home on Monday evening, her security has been increased.

Threats against the chief military advocate are being published on social media and voiced during protests against the arrest of suspects accused of abusing a Nukhba terrorist detainee in the Sde Teimande detention facility. Specifically, Tomer-Yerushalmi is being called a "traitor" and a "protector of murderers," with promises to "not give her peace."

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also condemned Tomer-Yerushalmi, writing on his social media account, "Chief military advocate, hands off the reservists!"

Government legal advisor Gali Baharav-Miara released a statement in support of the military prosecutor's office: "Just as it is necessary to give the IDF the freedom to operate, it is equally important to ensure these actions are carried out in accordance with the law. I express my full support for the chief military advocate and the staff of both civilian and military law enforcement agencies. They act professionally and honestly, striving to ensure the law is upheld."
