United, Delta, and British Airways are suspending flights to Israel starting Thursday, August 1, according to Kan news service.
On Wednesday, July 31, United Airlines informed its passengers of flight cancellations to and from Israel for the coming days.
Delta Airlines announced it will suspend flights to Israel for at least 48 hours.
American Airlines flights from New York to Tel Aviv have been canceled until at least August 6, as reported by Kan.
Following the news of Ismail Haniyeh's assassination in Tehran and the earlier assassination of Nasrallah's adviser in Beirut, social media speculated that flights to Israel were canceled due to fears of rocket attacks. However, the Ministry of Transport and the Airport Authority clarified that this was not the case, and Ben Gurion Airport continued to operate normally. The airlines made their decisions independently of the airport's readiness to receive and send planes.
