Iran blames U.S. and Israel for Soleimani memorial ceremony attack

Iranian authorities have pinned the blame on the U.S. and Israel for the terrorist attack in the city of Kerman, which claimed the lives of around 100 people. Mohammad Jamshidi, the political advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei, announced on social media that the countries have incriminated themselves.

"Washington says USA and Israel had no role in terrorist attack in Kerman, Iran. Really? A fox smells its own lair first. Make no mistake. The responsibility for this crime lies with the U.S. and Zionist regimes, and terrorism is just a tool," he wrote in English.

The explosions happened at the Kerman cemetery during a memorial ceremony for Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by the U.S. on January 3, 2020. About 100 people were killed, and 200 were injured.

Iranian authorities have reported the incident as a terrorist attack. It has also been condemned in the Arab world. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the explosions.
