PA Security lieutenant colonel killed in Tulkarm
The Ma'an news agency has reported that two men were killed in a clash with Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near Tulkarm.
According to the agency, one of the deceased individuals is Faris Mahmoud Abdullah Khalifa, a Palestinian Authority Security Lieutenant Colonel residing in Nur Shams.
Faris is the brother of Farsan Khalifa, a commander of the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades in the Gaza Strip. Farsan Khalif had been sentenced to life in prison for terrorism and was released from an Israeli prison as part of the Shalit deal.
Following his release, he was deported to the Gaza Strip and was recently killed in an IDF attack.
