On the evening of January 22, Yemeni media reported explosions and fires in various parts of the capital. Pentagon sources confirmed that the US and British air forces conducted a joint operation, targeting Houthi sites in Sanaa.
According to the Associated Press, the targets included rocket launchers and missile depots belonging to Yemeni rebels.
The Sun reported that Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets and laser-guided bombs were used in the attack on the Houthis.
This strike followed warnings from Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden that if further attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden persisted, Yemen would face additional strikes.
