The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, condemned the U.S. airstrikes on the bases of the pro-Iranian group "Kata'ib Hezbollah," which is responsible for numerous attacks on U.S. military locations in Syria and Iraq.

"The American strikes on positions of the Iraqi army are a violation of Iraq's sovereignty. They will only lead to a dangerous escalation. Such aggressive actions can undermine years of cooperation," he stated.

Radical Iraqi Shiite paramilitary group "Kata'ib Hezbollah" is directly subordinate to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps's (IRGC) Quds Force and operates under its instructions and guidance. However, it nominally belongs to the armed forces of Iraq.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin shared some details of the strikes. He emphasized that the attacks were necessary and proportional, serving as an immediate response to the actions of pro-Iranian militants.
