The US Central Command says that on February 4 at 04:00 (Sanaa time), the US Navy struck a Houthi anti-ship cruise missile that was prepared to launch against ships in the Red Sea.

CENTCOM statement noted that this missile posed an immediate threat to commercial ships and US Navy vessels in the region.

Earlier on February 3, Centcom reported the destruction of six Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles on Yemeni soil.

On the night of February 4, the US and the UK issued a joint statement confirming that the armed forces of both countries had attacked 36 targets at 13 different Houthi militant sites in Yemen on the evening of February 3. The statement said the strikes targeted buried weapons storage facilities, missile systems, airfields, and radars.

Al Jazeera reported that among the targets were Houthi military sites in the city of Taiz in central Yemen.

Earlier, Yemeni media reported explosions in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.
