Turkish president compares Netanyahu to Hitler again
During a statement following a cabinet meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the situation in the Gaza Strip, once again drawing parallels between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hitler.
Erdogan criticized Western nations for overlooking what he described as "massacres of Palestinians by Netanyahu under the guise of fighting Hamas." He added, "The Netanyahu government, in imitation of Hitler, continues to escalate its policy of brutality every day since October 7."
It's worth noting that Erdogan had previously made a similar comparison on December 27, stating there was no distinction between "Netanyahu and Hitler."
In response, Netanyahu countered, "Erdogan, who is accused of genocide against the Kurds and imprisoning a record number of journalists critical of his regime, is hardly in a position to lecture on morality."
Following the events of October 7 and the onset of the IDF operation in Gaza, Erdogan labeled Netanyahu a "war criminal," predicting he would be remembered as "the butcher of Gaza," and asserting that he had "written Netanyahu off."
