US President Joe Biden met with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and the potential entry of Israeli troops into Rafah.
The Hashemite monarch expressed concern that an IDF operation in Rafah would lead to disaster. He called for a complete and permanent ceasefire and stressed the vital role of the UN Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees.
"Attacks against civilians, including those on October 7, are unacceptable to Muslims," he emphasized.
President Biden assured that the United States would do everything possible to secure the release of hostages and achieve a ceasefire lasting at least six weeks. He highlighted the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
