Hamas calls for international investigation into ‘Israeli crimes against Palestinian women’
The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas has issued a statement in response to remarks made by UN experts during the first day of hearings at the International Court of Justice regarding the legality of the "Israeli occupation of the West Bank."
"We demand an international investigation into the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip, particularly those committed against women and girls. They confirm the allegations that the occupation under the leadership of the war criminal Netanyahu is committing genocide and ethnic cleansing," the statement reads.
"The crimes committed against Palestinian women include shootings, beatings, arbitrary arrests, denial of food and medical care, rape threats, intimidation, and insults. These testimonies should be included in the genocide case," the document notes.
Earlier UN experts stated that they have credible evidence of egregious human rights violations by Israel, especially against women and girls. According to these claims, they are deliberately killed, often together with other family members, including children.
Particular attention is paid to sexual violence against Palestinian women. "Israeli male officers would strip them and conduct searches. There is evidence of at least two cases of rape, and many were threatened with rape," says Anadolu Agency, citing the experts.
According to expert testimonies, IDF soldiers opened fire on people approaching them with white flags, abducted Palestinian children, and took them to Israel. It is also claimed that one Palestinian woman was kept in a cage in the rain without food.
