U.S. Army Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that U.S. Air Force aircraft and a naval coalition ship successfully intercepted six one-way unmanned aerial vehicles (OWA) launched by the Houthis in the Red Sea on Thursday, February 22.
The attacks were repelled between 4:30 and 5:30 AM (Sana'a time).
According to CENTCOM, the targets of the kamikaze UAV attack were intended to be U.S. and naval coalition ships.
Between 8:30 and 9:45 AM, the Houthis launched two anti-ship missiles from southern Yemen targeting locations in the Gulf of Aden.
One of the missiles struck the British-owned cargo ship MV Islander, which flies the Palauan flag. One person sustained minor injuries as a result of the attack, but the ship was able to continue sailing.
