Syrian state media report explosions in the Shiite suburb of Damascus and air defense interceptions.
The area targeted by the attack is Sayeda Zainab, located south of Damascus. A Syrian state television channel attributes these incidents to "Israeli aggression."
This is not the first time Sayeda Zainab has been struck by IAF, with the last attack occurring on January 29. According to the London-based monitoring group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Hezbollah and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have headquarters in the area.
Previous strikes have targeted facilities located near residential buildings, which were guarded by Iranian militia forces.
