Jordan requests Israel to extend water agreement
The authorities of Jordan have approached the government of Israel with a request to extend the increased water supply agreement by another year, Kan News reported.
Under the peace treaty, Israel supplies Jordan with 50 million cubic meters of water annually. In 2021, an agreement was signed to supply an additional 50 million cubic meters annually. This agreement expires in May.
Jerusalem is not rushing to agree to extend the agreement, demanding to soften its anti-Israel rhetoric and incitement in exchange for water.
