Senior Hamas official and member of the organization's politburo Osama Hamdan stated in an interview with the Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen, associated with Hezbollah, that he sees no point in continuing talks on a ceasefire in Gaza.
"If there are no clear answers, we cannot continue to go around in circles," Hamdan said.
According to Hamdan, Israel and the United States only want a temporary ceasefire to conduct another "prisoner exchange." He emphasized that this was clear from the first day of negotiations in Paris.
"The Paris agreement concerned a prisoner exchange but completely ignored the ceasefire and the withdrawal of forces from Gaza, while the resistance forces highlight these issues as key," he said.
