British Foreign Secretary David Cameron has called on Israel to address allegations raised in an investigation conducted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The investigation accuses the Israeli army of abusing Palestinian doctors.
The accusations stem from a raid at Nasser Hospital on February 16. According to the BBC report, the medics were subjected to physical abuse, including beatings, stripping, blindfolding, and being doused with cold water. They were also allegedly forced to kneel. The medical staff was released a few days later.
The investigation presents evidence based on testimonies from doctors and interviews with refugees who were present at the hospital during the raid. Additionally, secret footage obtained during the raid is included.
"This is deeply concerning. It is imperative to establish the facts surrounding these events, and for this, we require a response from the Israeli authorities," stated the minister during a speech in the House of Lords.
Britain suspects Israel of violating the Geneva Convention, which safeguards medical facilities.
