Palestinian terror group Hamas has expressed outrage over the appointment of Mohammad Mustafa as the new Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made the decision without consulting its representatives.

In a statement, Hamas emphasized that shortly before the appointment, Abbas's Fatah movement and Hamas representatives took part in a meeting in Moscow to end long-time divisions.

"Making individual decisions and engaging in superficial and empty steps such as forming a new government without national consensus only reinforces a policy of unilateralism and deepens division. This approach has inflicted and continues to inflict harm on our people and our national cause," Hamas stated.
