Ismail Haniyeh meets with Chinese Foreign Ministry delegation for talks
Ismail Haniyeh, the senior political leader of Hamas, met with Wang Keijian, the head of the Western Asia and North Africa Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, in Doha. The Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, Cao Xiaolin, was also present at the meeting.
According to the press service of the group, the discussion focused on the changing political landscape and the situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as strategies to cease hostilities and promptly deliver humanitarian aid to the region.
Haniyeh stated, "I am proud of the strong ties between our nations and appreciate the PRC's role in the UN and the International Court of Justice, along with its aid delivery to the region. Every effort must be made to halt the violence in the Gaza Strip."
The leader of the Chinese delegation emphasized the "historic" relationship between the Palestinian and Chinese peoples and reiterated unwavering support for the Palestinian pursuit of freedom and independence. He also emphasized Hamas's integral role within the Palestinian national framework.
