The heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, had a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.

On March 18, Guterres presented a report prepared by the UN, which stated that famine had struck the Gaza Strip.

The document notes that approximately half of the enclave's population, around 1.1 million people, have completely depleted food supplies.

The UN chief emphasized that the famine was the result of Israeli actions and called for an immediate ceasefire in the strip. He also urged for large-scale food deliveries to Gaza.
