Haniyeh: 'Israel faces unprecedented political isolation'
During his visit to Tehran, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Politburo, addressed the UN Security Council's call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the United States' decision to abstain from voting instead of using its veto power.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Haniyeh remarked, "This resolution may be late, but it signals that the Israeli occupiers are facing unprecedented political isolation. Israel is losing its political support, even in the Security Council."
Haniyeh emphasized, "The United States is no longer capable of imposing its will on the international community. Despite being at war for five months, the Zionists have not achieved any of their military or strategic objectives."
Additionally, Haniyeh met with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei. Khamenei stated, "The Palestinian resistance forces are bravely standing against the brutal Zionist regime, which perpetrates its crimes with the backing of the West."
This marks the second visit by the Hamas leader to Iran since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. During a previous visit, Haniyeh also met with Khamenei.
