The Houthi movement spokesman Yahya Saree claimed on Sunday that the group had launched rockets and drones at American and British warships in the Red Sea, as well as two ships heading to Israel in the Gulf of Aden.
British security firm Ambrey reported that on Sunday, April 7, a merchant vessel was attacked in the Gulf of Aden, about 102 nautical miles southwest of Mukalla in Yemen. After the incident, vessels in the vicinity were advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency (UKMTO) reported an attempted missile attack on a merchant vessel southwest of the Yemeni Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on April 6.
US-led coalition forces intercepted one of the missiles, and the second missed the ship. The vessel wasn't damaged, and its crew was unharmed.
