Body of Lebanese Forces activist kidnapped in Lebanon was found in Homs, Syria
The body of Pascal Sleiman, a senior activist of the Lebanese Forces, was discovered in a hospital in the Syrian city of Homs a day after he was abducted in the Byblos area, north of Beirut. The Lebanese Forces is a Christian party known for its opposition to Hezbollah.
Media outlets aligned with the Lebanese Forces allege that Sleiman was kidnapped for ransom by a gang organized by Syrian refugees. His car was also located in Homs.
The Lebanese army's press service confirmed the involvement of Syrian migrants. According to their statement, some gang members were apprehended in Lebanon, revealing that they had taken the party branch leader in Byblos to Syria.
Initially, supporters of the Lebanese Forces pointed fingers at Hezbollah for the abduction. However, after Sleiman's body was found, Lebanese Christians redirected their ire towards Syrian refugees. Nevertheless, the party leadership maintains that it was a politically motivated murder.
