French President Emmanuel Macron, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and King Abdullah II of Jordan penned a joint article in The Washington Post, urging an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They highlight the dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

"Violence, terror, and war will not pave the path to peace in the Middle East. Only the two-state solution holds the key – the sole means to achieve lasting peace and security, sparing both Palestinians and Israelis from the anguish they've endured since October 7," the leaders emphasize.

They call for the enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2728, passed on March 25, which mandates an urgent ceasefire. The leaders specifically draw attention to the situation in Rafah, home to approximately 1.5 million Palestinians, stressing the necessity of humanitarian aid delivery and the protection of civilians.
