Iranian newspaper accuses Russia and Syria over Israel strikes
Iran's Jomhouri-e Eslami newspaper, known for its close ties to the regime, published an editorial accusing Russia and Syria of aiding Israel in targeting Iranian officers to facilitate Iran's removal from Syria.
The editorial highlights significant losses suffered by Iranians in Syria, reporting that since December 2023, 18 high-ranking officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been killed there.
Jomhouri-e Eslami points out that despite Russia's control over Syrian airspace, it does not intervene to prevent Israeli strikes. Additionally, the Syrian government neither retaliates against these strikes nor comments on them.
Ayatollah's regime faces internal pressure as Iranian citizens question why authorities do not respond to Israel's attributed attacks. The publication likely aims to alleviate pressure on the regime by addressing these concerns.
