Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has asserted that Iran will retaliate against any threat to its interests. He made this statement during a phone call with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
"I want to be clear: even the slightest action that endangers Iran’s interests will result in a severe, painful, and extensive response," Raisi conveyed to the Emir.
Reports suggest that during a military cabinet meeting on April 15, it was decided to deliver a "clear and decisive response" to the Iranian attack on Israeli territory. The aim of this response is to prevent Iran from altering the regional power balance and to diminish Israel's deterrent capabilities.
Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Chief of the General Staff, visited the Nevatim base, which was targeted in the Iranian attack, and met with personnel from the 140th Air Force Squadron, equipped with the latest F-35 combat aircraft.
"We are assessing our options carefully. The significant launch of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones into Israeli territory will not be left unanswered," stated the IDF press service, quoting the military leader.
