WSJ: Iran and Hezbollah evacuate military personnel from Syria
According to The Wall Street Journal, Tehran, anticipating a possible retaliatory strike from Israel, has begun evacuating military personnel and officers from sites in Syria.
A source within Syrian security services informed the WSJ that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah have significantly reduced the number of senior officers and commanders in Syria, with the evacuation also affecting midranking officers.
As a result, Tehran believes that in response to the April 13 attack, Israel may conduct strikes both on Iranian territory and its proxies in the region.
