Erdogan: Israel could extend aggression to Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, known for his contentious statements against Israel, has once again stirred controversy.

Erdogan, who has previously drawn parallels between Israel and the Nazis while endorsing Hamas as a national liberation movement, warned of potential conflict escalation. He stated that if what he termed as Israeli "aggression" in Gaza persists unchecked, Israel might target Turkey.

According to reports from the Oriental Express website, Erdogan asserted, “Don’t assume that Israel's actions will be confined to Gaza. If this aggressive behavior continues unchecked, this so-called terrorist state may eventually extend its actions to Anatolia under the guise of reclaiming the Promised Land.”

Additionally, Erdogan affirmed Turkey's support for Hamas, characterizing the group as not only fighting for its own independence but also defending Turkish interests.
