Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan stated that resumption of negotiations will only be possible if Israel ceases its aggression, withdraws troops from the Gaza Strip, and implements the verdict of the International Court of Justice.
According to Hamdan, intermediaries have not informed Hamas about the resumption of negotiations. He claimed that Israeli statements about returning to dialogue are merely attempts to justify themselves infront of the ICJ and to prevent charges of aiding genocide from being brought against the United States.
"For the court's decision to take effect, it must be approved by the UN Security Council. The US will have to use its veto power, thereby becoming even more complicit in Israeli crimes," he said.
