The day after Spain, Ireland, and Norway recognized the state of Palestine, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa visited Madrid and met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
"On behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas and the government of Palestine, the people of Palestine, we warmly welcome Spain'sSpain's recognition of the state of Palestine. This recognition strengthens our resolve to continue our struggle for a just and lasting peace," Mustafa said.
The PA Prime Minister arrived in Madrid as part of a delegation from the "Foreign Ministerial Committee of Arabic and Islamic countries for Gaza." The committee includes the Prime Minister of Qatar, the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, and the head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
