Iraqi police used live ammunition to disperse a demonstration demanding the closure of a KFC restaurant on Falastin Street in Baghdad. Three people were injured and 12 were arrested.

The demonstration at the diner was the third in the last week. Residents of the capital took to the streets after the Iran-linked Kataib Hezbollah group called on Iraqis to boycott American goods.

KFC is an American company. The establishments in Arab countries are owned by the Americana Group. The Iraqi government is making significant efforts to attract foreign capital to the country.
