Media reports: Hamas rejects Israel deal, citing differences from Biden’s proposal
The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq reports that Hamas has rejected the ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal from Israeli authorities.
The publication states that the deal was turned down because its terms were “fundamentally different” from what U.S. President Joe Biden had announced.
Al-Sharq cites a statement from Hamas circulated among Palestinian factions on the evening of June 5.
Hamas claims that the proposed agreement "does not guarantee a permanent ceasefire; the occupying forces will remain in Gaza, and once they take hostages, they will resume a war of annihilation against our people."
