US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Hamas leadership's support for the UN Security Council resolution on Gaza, initiated by the American administration, encouraging.
However, Blinken noted he had not yet heard a response from Hamas leadership in Gaza. The final decision on matters related to the war lies with the group's Gaza leader, Yahya Sinwar.
This is Blinken's eighth Middle East tour since the outbreak of hostilities. He has visited Egypt and Israel and will next head to Jordan for an Arab summit on Gaza.
