The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, run by the British Navy, announced that a vessel was attacked 65 nautical miles (120 kilometers) west of the Yemeni port city of Hodeida.

The incident is classified as an attack, and an investigation is underway. No injuries were reported.

For months, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have repeatedly attacked vessels in and around the Red Sea, claiming their actions are in support of Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip.

UKMTO has advised vessels to navigate the area cautiously and report any suspicious activity.
