In an interview with Russia Today, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said the coming month would be decisive, though he expressed pessimism about the outcome.

"We met with the American envoy Amos Hochstein and are awaiting answers following his visit to Tel Aviv, but we have yet to receive any," Berri stated. According to Berri, Hochstein suggested that Hezbollah withdraw eight kilometers from the border. In response, Berri demanded that the Israeli army retreat by the same distance.

Berri accused Israel of violating UN Resolution 1701, which ended the Second Lebanon War. He also dismissed reports claiming Hezbollah stores missiles at Beirut International Airport, calling them falsehoods.
