An El Al passenger plane carrying many Israeli passengers made an emergency landing at Antalya Airport in Turkey due to a medical incident involving one of the passengers. The flight was en route from Warsaw to Tel Aviv.
According to Mako, passengers were informed they would have to remain on the plane for several hours and were not allowed to disembark. Turkish authorities also refused to refuel the plane.
El Al Airlines confirmed that the affected flight was LY5102 from Warsaw to Tel Aviv. A passenger fell ill, and after consulting with an onboard doctor, the pilots decided to make an emergency landing to get the passenger to a hospital as quickly as possible.
El Al is currently waiting for a response from Turkey regarding refueling the aircraft. It should be noted that direct flights to Turkey have been suspended after October 7.
