Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, told the AP that a ceasefire on the Lebanese-Israeli border is impossible without a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

"If a ceasefire is reached in Gaza, we will cease fire too. Our participation in Israel's war with Hamas is intended to provide military support to our ally. If the war stops, there will be no need for this support," he said.

Qassem noted that while the intensity of Israeli actions in Gaza has decreased, they have not stopped. "If the situation is 'no war, no peace,' then I cannot say how we will act—we will need a clearer picture of the situation," he added.

The international community is making significant efforts to prevent a major war between Israel and Hezbollah. Western officials are trying to pressure both the Lebanese group and Israel to avoid further conflict.
