Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian, considered a representative of the "moderate" camp, confirmed that the Islamic Republic will continue to support the Hezbollah group and other representatives of the so-called "axis of resistance."

"The Islamic Republic has always supported the resistance of the peoples of the region against the illegal Zionist regime," he said in response to Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah's congratulatory message on Pezeshkian's election as president.

"I am confident that the resistance movement will not allow this criminal regime to continue its belligerent and criminal policies against the suffering people of Palestine and other peoples of the region," Pezeshkian continued.

It should be noted that during a daily briefing, State Department Press Secretary Matthew Miller stated that the US administration does not expect the election of a new president to result in changes in Iranian policy.
