The Associated Press, citing three Cairo airport employees, reports that an Israeli delegation arrived in Egypt on July 17 to continue negotiations for the release of hostages. The airport employees noted that the delegation consists of six people.

There has been no official confirmation from Israel.

Israeli public broadcaster Kan reported that Mossad chief Dadi Barnea was supposed to fly to Doha this week for further negotiations, but his trip was canceled.

It was also reported that there are serious disagreements between the negotiation team and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who demands that the IDF not withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor as one of the conditions. This condition was not part of the initial Israeli proposal.

Netanyahu stated during a meeting of the military-political cabinet that "the hostages are suffering, but they are alive."
