US asks Lebanon to restrain Hezbollah
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib told Reuters that the US administration has approached the Lebanese government, urging them to convince Hezbollah to exercise restraint.
During these discussions, Lebanese authorities requested the Americans to exert pressure on Israel to prevent an escalation of the conflict following the rocket explosion in the Druze town of Majdal Shams, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children.
Hezbollah representatives claim they are not responsible for the deadly rocket launch. However, both the US and Israel reject these assertions.
