On January 8, the Keshet Corporation Information Service reported that Amichai Chikli (Likud) resigned from his role as Minister of Social Equality, citing the necessity to reduce government spending.
Simultaneously, Chikli retained the position of Minister of Diaspora Affairs and expressed a desire to return to the Knesset, necessitating the departure of Sasson Guetta from parliament.
It is anticipated that the responsibilities formerly under the Ministry of Social Equality will now fall under the purview of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, led by May Golan.
Previously, specialists from the Finance Ministry proposed the closure of several ministries as part of cost reduction measures, including the Ministry of Social Equality and the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
