According to the Wall Street Journal, the United States and other members of the maritime coalition are gearing up for potential strikes on Houthi targets, following the Yemeni rebels' refusal to halt attacks on ships in the Red Sea as demanded by the UN Security Council.

As per information received by shipping companies from Western diplomats, the likely targets of the strike include missile and drone launch sites, radars, and weapons depots situated around the cities of Al Hudaydah and Hajjah. The list of potential targets also encompasses Houthi infrastructure in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

On the evening of January 10, the BBC website reported that both the United States and Great Britain indicated their readiness to launch retaliatory strikes against the Houthis.

Simultaneously, the BBC television channel stated that it is anticipated that Rishi Sunak, the head of the British government, will soon brief government members about the jointly planned attack on the Houthis in Yemen with the United States.
