Legendary Jewish AFC Ajax footballer dies at 86
On January 17, Dutch media reported the passing of Bennie Muller at the age of 86.
Muller was a legendary Jewish football player of AFC Ajax. He served as a midfielder for Ajax from 1958 to 1970, playing over 350 games for the club and captaining the team.
He was one of six Jewish footballers who made a significant impact on Ajax's history.
During his career, Muller represented the Netherlands national team in 43 matches. Notably, his first and last matches for the national team, in April 1960 and October 1968 respectively, were played against the Bulgarian team.
