Mexico and Chile urge ICC probe into Israel-Hamas war crimes

On Thursday, January 18, Mexico and Chile asked the International Criminal Court in The Hague to look into potential crimes during the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Mexican diplomats stated, “Today, Mexico and Chile shared information with the International Criminal Court to investigate possible crimes in Palestine. The ICC can determine if anyone, including the occupying power or its representatives, should be held accountable.”

According to Reuters, this move is backed by several UN reports on the conflict, amid rising concerns about violence, particularly against civilians.

Mexico’s Foreign Ministry is also closely following the trial in South Africa, where Israel is being accused of genocide.
