The Turkish Parliament has finally approved Sweden's membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, submitted in 2022, shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The vote in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey marked the final stage of Turkey's ratification of Sweden's NATO application. Hungary is currently the only NATO member who has not completed the ratification process.
Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he invited Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to Budapest for negotiations.
