Uzbek authorities block hiring of construction workers in Israel
An official Israeli delegation that traveled to Tashkent with the aim of hiring construction workers to work on Israeli construction sites returned empty-handed.
The Marker, citing members of the delegation, reports that local authorities obstructed its work with various bureaucratic pretexts, rendering the hiring of workers impossible.
Furthermore, the official Israeli delegation returned from India without a single worker either. But in this case, the reason was different—none of the applicants who responded to the published advertisements could pass the exam of the Israeli Association of Contractors.
On the other hand, private recruitment agencies have successfully recruited 5,400 workers in India through collaboration with local recruitment agencies, but their arrival in Israel has been delayed due to the necessity of obtaining criminal records from local police.
