The US administration has briefed Congress and American allies in Europe on new intelligence about the Russian space threat.
This intelligence suggests that Russia is working on space-based nuclear weapons intended to target satellites.
Republican Mike Turner, who chairs the US Congressional Intelligence Committee, has urged the administration to declassify this intelligence. He believes doing so will kickstart discussions with allies on how to address the threat.
According to Politico's sources, the US received information about Russian developments approximately a year ago. Currently, Western countries cannot counter this threat.
